I’m Curious About My Pregnancy…Help!!?
How to Get Pregnant Faster Naturally May 12th, 2010OK i’m either 25 or 27 weeks pregnant the doctor says im 27 weeks according to my second ultra sound but with my LMP i should be 25 weeks pregnant instead of 27 but anyways this is my first baby so when i go into labor and have my baby do i just start breast feeding right then and there or do they have to put my baby on formula because truthfully i don’t want my baby on formula i plan to breast feed for about a year. So how do i tell if i’m going to have enough breast milk for my baby when she arrives? I’m also nervous about using a breast pump because i’m afraid of the pain and because all of the horrible stories i’ve heard. I also want to know if the milk is going to come out naturally like fast when i first start to breast feed or do i have to keep trying and trying just to get breast milk out to feed my baby? Whats the longest wait to recieve breast milk to feed your baby? And i’m just curious i’ve been eating alot of hot junk food like a bag of flaming hot cheetos i mean i don’t eat it everyday but like every once in a while so is my baby going to be fine? I mean i eat healthy and i tend to have a little bag of hot chips and then have heartburn but then i get over it. But i’m curious is anything going to be wrong with my baby because my sister in law told me that i was going to burn a hole in my baby’s stomach which i truely don’t believe. So is there anything that’s going to be wrong with my baby? Is there something i should watch out for?
I’m pretty sure that all midwives encourage you to try breast feeding to begin with and if you don’t want to or your baby doesn’t take to it then you can use formula. When the baby is born your breasts will be full of a clear liquid called colostrum. After a few days the milk will come in. Your body produces milk to meet your baby’s needs. I didn’t experience any discomfort whilst using a breast pump. And with regards to eating hot spicy foods. I wouldn’t worry too much. Its going to cause you the most discomfort with heart burn more than anything at the moment. I know you have to watch what you eat and drink when breastbreeding because it affects the milk.

Honestly you shouldn’t be eating ANY junk food even one in a while maybe a couple of lollies every maybe 2 month but thats all. With the breatfeading honestly just ask. Never be afraid to ask doctor.

First I am going to say that breastfeeding was one of the best and rewarding experiences of my life- I just recently weaned my daughter off of my breasts and it really broke my heart. At first breastfeeding can be very hard- but once you and the baby get the hang of it- its wonderful. It is so healthy for the baby and the bonding experience is indescribable. If you are going to breastfeed- the nurses and lactating will try and coach you on how to breastfeeding around the time the baby is born. The couple of days you will just have colostrum- the yellow substance that comes out of the nipple- for the baby. Then your milk should let down after a couple of days.
The breast pump is very uncomfortable the first few times you use it but you get used to it.
And NO I highly doubt that spicy foods can cause an unborn baby to get a hole in its stomach. I ate hot wings and burritos when I was pregnant and my baby was born healthy and is still healthy- no stomach problems. But I would still try and take it easy on the spicy foods- every once in awhile isnt a big deal but dont eat spicy everyday or anything- it might be irrating to your baby.

your body is designed to feed your baby from the minute it is born. if you plan tou breast feed then start off with breast feeding not formula. this normally takes a few attempts, as both you and your baby are new to this. it will be a learning curve for both of you but the midwives will assist you. your breast will produce milk on demand as and when your when your baby needs it (although you do leak inbetween feeds) basically the more the baby feeds the more milk your breasts will produce. so there will always be enough milk for your baby as it grows. this is what your body is designed for and so it will happen. however do be prepared for it not to work. some babies just don’t take to the breast at all. it takes patience and time. don’t worry that your baby isnt getting enough at first because it will still have reserves from the placenta to keep him going. if it doesnt work the midwives will advise when to switch from breast to bottle. this in no way means that you have failed your baby, as i said, some babies just dont take to breast feeding and so you have to give it the bottle for obvious reasons.
the junk food bit….a takeaway or junk food is fine once in a while, just as it is when you’re not pregnant. as long as you make sure that on the whole you eat healthy, get plenty of fresh fruit and veg, drink plenty of water and don’t exert yourself you’ll be fine and so will your baby.
good luck x
